
Many years ago I read some of the Edgar Cayce Health Readings. I remember their different take on colds so I will
summarize it here. Colds were the end product of a virus that required acidic blood conditions to survive and
grow. To culture a growth you need to create the right conditions. This often involves a suitable substance, the right PH, proper salinity, the right temperature, correct amount of light etc. In labs they need incubators to maintain the right conditions. If you change the conditions significantly you can stop the culture from growing. Your body is similar to the incubator for some organisms. You are dark inside warm and moist so for some parasites you are ideal. Acidic blood Ph is the product of a diet high in processed foods and or red meat. It is a needed for some organisims to grow. Your blood is very much a by product of your diet so vegetables, fruits
and so forth shift the blood more alkaline thus preventing the cold virus from having a growth medium.
You might just consider shifting your diet to prevent colds. As far as supplements go all of the things that build the
immune system should be beneficial such as A,C, E, zinc, etc. as well as the herb Astragalus. I have personally had success with chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture. I have had my running
nose stop completely within minutes after having my cervical vertebrae adjusted by a chiropractor and I have had
similar success with an acupuncture treatment. The last cold I had I took Fo-Ti (to balance the Liver to Kidney circulation), Mullein (to dry my nose and clear my Lungs) C and Zinc. I took low levels of each such as I of each twice a day morning and evening. I had one weekend of a cold and it passed. In previous times if I have felt a cold coming on I simply rested ate salads and if stressed took an adrenal supplement plus Astragalus. The adrenal is because extreme stress sysmptoms can be identical to a cold so to speed my healing I supplement with something to support my adrenals. You will know if this is the case if you take an adrenal supplement and your symptoms go away quickly as in a few hours or overnight.
A last note, the Cayce Readings suggested several of the best foods to make the blood alkaline are lettuce, carrots
and celery.
