Depression

Depression while a mental condition can be brought on by many causes.  It can be caused by chemical issues here the solution is proper diet and supplements. I will address the mental aspect first since there is almost always a mental component and it must be resolved for complete healing.

For a life to have value there must be challenge.  If the challenge is perceived as more powerful than the person the natural result is either fight or to give in. For those who give in they succumb to a stream of limited or negative thoughts. Because we attract experiences in agreement with our beliefs their lives seem to validate the very limited thoughts that stream through their head making the process even more powerful.  The way out is simple, stop feeding the thoughts of helplessness or hopelessness.  If that is difficult simply start by giving thanks for each blessing or good thing that happens.  There are always things worth note that have little no cost.  Give thanks or appreciate the sunset, a rain, a beautiful tree or a simple kindness from another.  You will accomplish two things in doing this.  You will reconnect with the
good side of your universe and you will begin the process of reclaiming control of your thoughts and feelings.  You will discover it is hard to be thankful and negative in the same moment.  You can increase this by looking for a blessing or good in everything that you experience.  If possible avoid people or circumstances that seem to pull you down.  At least until you understand what triggers the reaction or what buttons are being pushed.  Once you know the triggers change your reaction to something you would prefer.  If someone has a way of causing you to be angry or upset consider laughing next time they push your button.  Stop allowing them to determine your reaction.  Take control by changing how you perceive the situation.  One way would be to ask yourself how would a great philosopher or teacher handle this?  How would a great leader or politician react to this?  As you consider this imagine it happening differently.  In your minds eye see the circumstances then change them to make the whole experience seem less threatening and more to your liking.  If it is a person see lint on the their face or the pants falling down as they get tough.  Or maybe you just laugh silently as you  notice their shoes are untied or their socks are mismatched.  Also, consider changing the environment stand in a different place in a different posture but always look for a more positive way of reacting and you will see the cycle break in your favor.  I
would not see any harm coming to another but there is an infinite amount of variables that would allow you to take back control and feel good about who you are and what you do.  There is always a way of diffusing issues and esolving differences.  As you take back control of your reactions you will begin to see things in a better light and the dark side of your experience will fade.  Look around and find the champion within then, in a hurtless and healthy way, change how you react to whatever has been limiting your life.  If there is a lesson in the experience accept it and go on.  You must move on mentally
before you will move on physically.  Otherwise you will simply recreate the conditions in a new place.

Often there are chemical or physical process issues and they can be resolved by moving the diet to healthier foods and taking a good general multivitamin mineral combination.  I prefer the type that suggests taking two or three a day.  I do not always take the full suggested use but these formulas tend to be more encompassing and they by that nature cover more bases.  I might buy a brand that recommends three per day but I would take two, one in the morning and one in the evening.  The problem is that you can only pack so much into a single tablet so you must reduce something to get more of something else.  The more frequent use types are weaker but offer the body a broader selection which I have found to be more important.  If you truly need mega doses you would need to be evaluated by an experienced qualified person to guide you through that process.

In dealing with my own issues I use Bach Flower Rescue Remedy for balance at the unconscious level, Arnica for physical trauma, Calmes Forte to relax without a sedative effect and Gotu Kola as a general antidepressant.  If I am really stressed I may resort to taking one or two Valerian Root at night shortly before sleeping.  More than one or two seems to be over kill and makes waking quickly difficult.  There are specific Bach Flower Remedies for most of the common issues, fears, addictions etc and you can find instructions for their use on line or at most health food stores.

If this did not bring me to a higher place I would seek help from a qualified person.
