Dreams

 Dream time is special because we leave behind our limited beliefs and can experience a more expanded world.  Here we can obtain information unavailable in the normal waking state. Here you may well see todays
experiences from an inner perspective, your own symbolic language or you may walk in the future.  You may find the answer to a prayer. You may just have an interesting dream.  The deeper you go into the Unconscious the more symbolic the dream. Conversely, dreams based in the more physical side tend to be representations you recognize or simply exact expressions of your physical world. It is not for everyone but for those who wish to explore this area I offer the following suggestions.

There are many misconceptions surrounding dreams. They can be generated from the physical level such as during a detoxing, eating the wrong food etc. Many nightmares are just that and nothing more. Or, they can be a more mental emotional view of your daily world. Or, a look into the energy forming your future. My expereince has been if I can see it, such as a warning dream, I can change it. It is the unseen things you can not alter. Over the years my dreams have saved me from accidents and once showed me my transmission bolts were coming loose. The accident I previewed in dream time and knowing the place plus the approximate date, it was snowing, I left extra room in front of my car whenever travelling on that hill. I had seen a car crashing into the rear of my car during a snow storm on this hill not far from my home. Everytime I travelled down this hill during snow or ice conditons I left 2 to 3 extra car lengths of open space in front of me. One night very similar to my dream a car behind me was moving too fast and when they attempted to slow down they slid directly at the rear of my car. However, since I had this extra distance to work with I was able to carefully pull forward getting very close to the car in front of me but it was enough that the car out of control behind me slide off the road a few feet back from my bumper. Some would say the dream was wrong but I say it was all I needed.

Another misconception is that the information is false. I have not found it to be so. There have been many dreams I still do not understand but I attribute that to my ignorance. It is like learning a new language there is much to learn and many misconceptions along the way. Worse, there are many levels you can dream and each has it's own language symbols but the good news is you will naturally take to it like a duck to water. As an example, if you pray for a new car then dream of a sports car then two weeks later dream of a minivan then a month later dream of a truck you are not being mislead you are watching the selection process. Be a good student then you can better participate in the process.  

Start by buying a small notebook.  Write on or in it Dream Log or Diary and place it along with a pen near your bed. Intent sets in motion thoughts and ideas that will help you move through your inner barriers.  You may also need a small flashlight.  A small cassette recorder will also work but it is important in the beginning to think this is for recording my dreams.  Start on a day you are physically tired.  However, avoid heavy meals, drinks etc. on that day. Eat a balanced diet and drink water or juice as much as possible. Avoid alcohol, drugs and so forth as they may distort your experience.  Be sure as you lay down and enter the borderline state you are holding the idea you will remember a significant dream.  

The borderline state is special because your conscious mind is closing down your filters so what you think going into sleep has more power.  It is for this reason you need to pay attention to your thoughts and if you are around children be sure to give them positive unlimited ideas about their life during this time.  Just remember what you say could easily take hold and develop into a powerful force within that person so choose your words wisely.  You might play with the idea such as asking yourself "I wonder what I will learn or experience in my dreams tonight".  Do this each night for several nights.  If you are religious and fearful simply see yourself in the company of angels or higher beings who have come to protect you.  See yourself receiving inner guidance through Grace and hold a thankful attittude. If after several nights you are not successful you might try taking the recommended amount of a Niacin (B3) supplement.  If you have any health concerns check with your doctor.  It can cause a flush in some people which usually passes quickly but it helps many to remember their dreams.  Once you start remembering your dreams you will not need the jump start approach it will just happen naturally.  

As you begin to remember dreams you will find you can direct them to some degree by a simple prayer technique taken from the ancient Huna system.  Sit quietly in a place you are not likely to be disturbed.  Begin
imagining you are gathering a ball of energy in front of you.  Comfortably build this ball to the size of a play ground or basketball.  Think of your question in simple terms in such a way you should get a clear answer.  Now write your question upon the ball of energy and once this is done see it rising as if high into the sky into the clouds and higher much like a balloon rising completely out of sight.  It needs to go out of your internal vision to insure you have released it.  Then think to yourself the vision, the prayer rises and the answer through grace like the rain falls to me now, I open myself to receive it.  Often this little ritual done in a respectful way before sleep will stimulate a response which may come as an intuition or more likely a dream. If you do it all right and pray for something then dream of something totally removed from that subject your inner mind is trying to show you something it regards as more important at that time. It would be wise to pay attention to the dream message because it has value to you. It is also possible your answer will come another night because your internal weather is not right. There are some universal symbols in dreams but most of what you see is your beliefs. In which case you will need time to begin to understand your own inner language.  The best general book I have seen is Dreams your Magic Mirror by Elsie Sechrist. If you feel you must refer to a dream book do it in a contemplative way, that is, you read what the book suggests then relax and allow your mind to loosely wander and pay attention to what you think.
