Most people identify infections by a fever. My experience has been to further divide that concept to low and high. Low fevers are often the body detoxifying and will pass naturally with a common sense approach of rest and good nutrients. If I
experience a low fever of several degrees and the absence of any hot spots or inflamed areas, it is usually my body
under going a cleaning or change process. I have found a small quantity of a low potency Belladonna (6X,12X 30X)
relieves the fever for several hours. I increase my rest and antioxidant vitamins (A-beta carotene, C, and E) to give greater
bioavailability to nutrients. I also eat less of any foods I regard as hard to process (red meat, pork, processed flour,
caffeine, fried foods and sugar). I move away from the hard to process foods because the body has a limited
amount of energy and eating those foods uses energy needed for healing. Also, keep in mind eating creates heat in the body.
From a holistic point of view the infectious agent only thrives because the body has been weakened in some area. Simply restoring normal energy or health will eliminate the infection. I have not had an antibiotic since my youth over forty years ago. I have managed my fevers with basic herbs, such as Astragalus, fasting (only when I am strong) and antioxidants (A,C & E). For some years I took Echanciea and Gold Seal but I stopped that and have found success without using them. I would also take the least amount I could of any needed support in the way of a pain killer, decongestant
etc. Many of the medical chemical aids are very hard to metabolize placing a burden on the Liver effectively slowing down your healing. I have had better success taking Astragalus when I am feeling weak or tired and
while doing this I have not had any infections. I am only taking one capsule a day occassionally but it seems to work very well.
During the day I sell medical equipment and one area of supplies I sell is quality assurance products to pharmacies to check possible
contamination of hoods, refrigerators, lab surfaces etc. To check the air or an appliance you take a media such as a small
paddle then expose it to the air or use it to wipe the surface of the appliance you are checking. You then set this test media
aside or maybe even incubate it If after a given time such as two weeks you do not see any growth on the media you can
consider what you tested as clear or clean. I tell you this to draw your attention to the fact it takes certain conditions
to grow a culture. Your infection is no different it requires certain conditions to grow. If you take that sample and put it in the sun light or subject it to extreme cold you could easily destroy
the culture. Changing your diet alters your body chemistry making conditions inside the body different thus slowing down or altering the growth pattern. Obviously, some cultures are stronger than others but they all require some set of conditions for growth.
High fevers are dangerous and must be managed carefully. If there is any reason to suspect the condition is getting worse seek professional help.
