Lymphatic System

Lymph is the fluid surrounding the cells.  Cells absorb nutrients and excrete waste into the surrounding area.  The area must nutrient rich and have a clear fluid to absorb the waste products form the cell activity.  The lymph system is the collection fluid for the cells.  The collected lymph is moved through the lymphatic system and vessels to the venous system.  The lymph system does not have a pump like the heart in the circulation system.  It is pumped instead by physical action a combination of capillary force combined with the squeezing of the vessels.  Under normal conditions the action of standing,
stretching, walking and doing daily activity would keep this system in good shape.  The venous system then carries these by-products to the kidney and liver for processing or elimination.  This system much like acupuncture has areas on the skin that correspond to the internal organ systems.  It is a part of the immune system.  When a cell or group of cells, a organ, becomes challenged and is working at high capacity it kicks off more waste than usual.  If the surrounding fluid becomes over whelmed, toxic, with cellular by-products the related area on the surface will become tender and you can feel a difference in the tissue. This difference will be felt like something soft or corded under the skin.  If you gently rub that area you will cause a reflex action in the corresponding organ.  Sometimes this action is enough to get the organ functioning normal again and the fever goes away. Working these points is a way of restoring health.

You can find many of the reflexes along the spine.  I have broken many fevers with my children by simply holding them and carefully rubbing the areas close to and along both sides of the spine.  I would especially rub those areas that feel as though there is something beneath the skin.  Feeling something doe not mean something is wrong because there are many possible reasons for tissue to become course or different.  However, I would be sure to run both sides of the spine from top to bottom in order to cover all the reflexes in that area. Some tines those areas are tender but even a very light gentle circular massage will bring results.  I would repeat the massage several hours later.  If this technique is going to help you will see results quickly.  I have seen my children's fevers drop in minutes.

High fevers can be dangerous.  If one develops or persists take your child to the nearest medical service quickly.
