It is an old remedy that you can use Castor oil on the warts to dissolve them. Sometimes it works and sometimes it
does not. I prefer Castor oil with a little baking soda, it seems to be a stronger formula. The plantar wart
occurs on the bottom of the foot but has a root that extends into the tissue. If it is an area that gets pressure as you
walk you will feel the wart. Using Castor oil will cause it to become tender for days even weeks as it dissolves the wart
from within the foot. I have used this approach twice and both times it worked. I put the paste on the wart and
surrounding area nightly and a small amount on a band aid applied each morning. I used the band aid and a smaller amount
so it would not stain my socks or shoes. It took me several months in both cases.
Podiatrists can burn or surgically remove them but that has a recovery period because of the root depth and a substantial price.
I have read the theory that the warts are related to endocrine change. Further, it is thought that small amounts of iodine balance the endocrine system. If you are not allergic to iodine you might take a tablet or two of kelp a day (follow the directions on the container)or consider a formulated product such as Atomidine or Formula 636 to supplement your iodine intake. Follow the directions on the package or, in the case of kelp, buy it as a food and integrate a small amount into your diet. The Formula 636 contains two compounds useful in balancing the endocrine glands and the hormones. Plus it is taken following meals so it is convenient too. Both of these formulas are used on a cycle you take them for a few days then stop while the body re balances then repeat again as needed. Done correctly I would expect to see results quickly and you should improve with each cycle. Your wart should naturally shrink as you do the cycles adding the ointment should speed this process. Both Atomidine and Formula 636 are available from the Heritage Store. You can find a brief description of the store and a link here .
Regarding iodine, do not think if small is good large is better. A small amount of iodine is safe and often beneficial however large amounts could cause damage. At the least it must be metabolized creating a further burden on the body. If you have any doubts talk to a qualified professional.
