The prayer test is a unique opportunity to check yourself at the unconscious level.  I read about his concept many years ago and have found it to be very informative.  This approach could also be done by doing the steps but then imagining you were going to some powerful authority figure to make your request.

To do the prayer test you need to focus on the key element you need today to go forward in your life.  Once you have that in mind multiply that by 10 or 20 then go off and sincerely pray for it.  As an example, if you need $40,000.00 to
pay all your bills or get a new start then multiply that by 10 and go pray for $400,000.00.  If good health is your challenge pray for a miracle a sudden transformation restoring or bringing an ideal state of health.  If a companion is your need then imagine the most perfect person possible being with you and supporting you in every way.

After you have prayed for this blessing relax and pay attention to how you feel and any feedback you get from your body in the way of tension, twitches, spasms, nervousness etc.
