Shingles

Today is January 30th 2005.  Last November and December were extremely stressful.  It was a combination of work and several personal projects that created the stress.  I had previously scheduled a trip to Las Vegas around Christmas because my children were meeting there.  In the first part of December I could not sleep because of an intense pain in the upper part of my chest and back just inside of my right shoulder.  I had never experienced anything like this so I assumed if I could relax and do a few nurturing things I would be fine.   The pain only became worse and several red tender spots
appeared on both my chest and back.  It felt as though I had been stabbed through my back and chest and with my impending trip I felt I needed to stop the pain quickly.  My first thought was acupuncture so I called a small local clinic located in a Chinese area of West County. I set an appointment then deliberately showed up early hoping to get in quickly.  The clinic is about 30 minutes from my office so I could leave for lunch grab a quick sandwich go to the clinic get a treatment then be back in  a little over two hours.  I have found that I must eat something before a treatment or I will pass out once the needles are in a few minutes.  The doctor at the clinic is a Chinese lady who has always been very effective in the past.  She took a quick look at my chest then inserted about a dozen plus needles in all my hot tender
spots plus a few more on my right arm.  My treatment involved laying on my left side for about 45 minutes with these needles in my chest and right arm.  Her English is minimal but she did say it looked like Shingles but that her treatment would encompass this plus eliminate a problem with a damp condition in my liver.

Shingles as I understand it is a virus that comes with childhood Chicken Pox then retreats to the spine or nervous tissue where it remains dormant until certain stress conditions cause it to reappear.  She gave me a an ointment which had a distinct menthol camphor scent and a cooling effect to be put on the hot spots along with two herbal blends one for my liver and the other to relax.  Total cost for the visit with herbs and ointment $49.50.  She asked me to come back in a few days but I told her that was not possible due to my trip plans.  Her treatment clearly helped as it cut my pain down to the place I could sleep at night and only had a minor ache where before I had a piercing pain.   However, I was headed to Las Vegas and not sure how all this was going to work.  Since I still had some pain I decided to work on the problem myself.  Without realizing it my wife had booked us in separate aisles so I had no idea who would
be sitting next to me.  The benefit was that if I closed my eyes to go internal a stranger would simply think I was trying to sleep.  The first part of my trip was to Dallas so I spent the entire time visualizing my cells finding and eliminating any and all viruses and bacteria from my spine, nerves and tender skin areas.  I did this by closing my eyes and seeing energy and luminous cells doing the work.  Whenever distractions caused me to open my eyes I would relax a few seconds then close my eyes and repeat the process.  The second leg of the trip was from Dallas to Las Vegas and on that leg I would close my eyes and as I breathed in I would see energy gathering in my abdomen area then I would see it moving to my spine then out each nerve extending out to it's end where I saw it create new youthful skin.  I did not eat on either flight and only drank juice as the attendants offered it. Upon my arrival in Las Vegas I felt as though I had done enough and that everything would now heal on it's own without my attention.  I did continue to take the herbs recommended by the good doctor.  Each day after that I felt progressively better with the whole cure taking about three weeks.  I did go back for additional herbs once for a cost of $9.50 and that is my shingles experience.

January 13, 2008, no problems, no further treatment.
