Visualizing for Healing

Visualizing for health is the art of directing internal energies for healing. The unconscious responds more to pictures and symbols than it does the idea of will. This an excellent tool for use with cancer first because it sends a clear message but also because it empowers the healing process not the cancer. Visualizing is easier for visually developed people than people who rely more on their other senses.

To get the maximum value for the moment you should ritualize this process, that is, do it in a special way so the unconscious knows this is a special time, pay attention.  How you do this is up to you and in the beginning do it in such a way and time that you will not be distracted.  Also, do not do this while operating anything dangerous because you turning your attention inward so you will be less attentive to the outer world.

To begin simple think of some health issue that you would like to change.  Then in a place you can relax and not be disturbed close your eyes and allow you attention to turn inward.  Think of your challenge then allow it to take on a shape, color, quality or texture.  It will become something and as it becomes this something you might think of it as the heading on a file folder or an indicator of a block of internal information.  Once it's form is clear decide how you would change it to be more of what you would like it to be.  If it became a sound does it need to be softer or more in harmony.  If it became an object change it to something more pleasant to the eye.  If it became an animal see it converting into something beautiful and friendly to you.  In short, make changes to have your symbol more to your liking then relax your thinking and see if your changes remain.  When I have done this with friends who have pain they often have dramatic reductions in pain levels but I have also used it to speed healing from injuries and accidents.  The points I find important are listed below.

I find there are four important areas to succeed in visualizing.

First, you must use your own symbols.  There are many books about visualizing but most contain symbols that work for the author but each of us has our own internal language.  If I have a dozen people in a room and I ask them to draw a chair no two pictures will be the same.  If I were to take someone else's image and use it to tell your unconscious what a chair was it may not get the message.  If I ask you to take your picture the message is clear. Dogs who are loved by many are feared by some and held in indifference by yet another group.  Snakes can be threatening yet loved by those who care for them and see their value.   In a similar way animals, buildings and everything in our world has a unique meaning to us. The message is clear use your own symbols.

Second, where is the power?  When you first see your internal image or symbol how did it feel?  Did you feel you had power over it?  If I asked you to draw a picture would the power be on your side or on the other side?  In order for visualizing to work you must have the power.  Work changes on your image then let go does the change stay or does it revert back?  How much has it changed?

Third, see it finished.  People who only see a partial success only get a partial success.  See it completed to your satisfaction in a healthy and hurt less way.

Last, be consistent.  You can not go forward if you think turn left then follow that thought with turn right.  To get somewhere you must keep thinking  the same thing and only that thing.

You can always repeat the process but do not effort or strain.  You can always do it again and often get even better results but you need to be refreshed and relaxed, if possible.  The more you visualize the better it will work for you.

Visualizing wellness I am Ross Craft and I recovered from blindness, cardiomyopothy and  Wegener's Granulomatosis Vasculitis, two usually fatal diseases.   You might ask how did you do it? I combined guided visualization, meditation and NLP in an mp3 recording.  Visualizing with a coach, while in a deep meditative state did the trick.  Despite all the best medical efforts, for 4 and 1/2 years my health kept getting worse and I finally arrived at death's door.  Then I started using  guided visualization while in a deep meditative state using NLP programs and my recovery took only 3 and 1/2 months.
